Workforce Development
Community-Based Trial Work Experience
This program is designed to assist a student who is undecided as to what type of job he/she prefers. A Workforce Development associate will assess the skills and abilities of the student and place the individual in several work environments. The associate and student will then decide the best fit and determine if additional training is required.
Job Placement
A Workforce Development associate will assist a student in identifying job openings and coaching him/her for job interviews. Once an individual is placed, Goodwill provides follow-up retention services.
Job Coaching
After a student is placed in competitive employment, the individual may contact Goodwill if he/she experiences difficulties on the job or with a specific task.
Member for Life
All graduates of Goodwill's programs become "Members for Life." As a member, a graduate may contact Goodwill at any time for additional training and/or a "refresher" course. The individual may also contact Goodwill for additional job placement services. This program ensures the success of all graduates!
Transitional/Sheltered Employment
This program is for individuals who require a longer period of training before applying for competitive employment or for individuals who are unable to compete in community employment. Goodwill provides employment opportunities for these individuals with ongoing support services.
