Programs and Services

Our programs and services include basic computer skills, cashier, retail skills, vocational services, financial management and hospitality training. Below is a description of some of the offerings we have. Contact us to find out more.

ShopRite Cashier Training

Goodwill’s partnership with the Kenny Family ShopRites of Delaware and the Wakefern Food Corporation prepares participants for entry-level cashier positions at Delaware ShopRite stores through hands-on training in a simulated ShopRite grocery store. Participants also receive customer service training and certification from The National Retail Federation. Graduates of this program go directly to work at one of the six ShopRite grocery stores upon successful completion of this five-week training program. Available in New Castle County.

Basic Retail Skills Training

This six-week skills training program is built to prepare participants for competitive employment in customer service related fields such as retail, hospitality and office environments. This program emphasizes the development of customer service skills to include managing irate customers, telephone etiquette and the importance of proper communication. Participants will have the opportunity to utilize their knowledge during an off site work experience. Available in New Castle and Kent Counties.

Industrial Cleaning Skills Training

This four-week skills training program combines proven office cleaning methods with modern environmentally friendly methods and techniques. Participants are instructed on the proper use of tools and techniques necessary for healthy and safe cleaning. Participants will have the opportunity to utilize their knowledge during an off site work experience. Available in New Castle and Kent Counties.

Vocational Evaluation

This two-week program is designed to assess consumers’ skills, abilities and work readiness. It is also designed to determine vocational interests and ability. Available in New Castle and Kent Counties.

Job Placement and Job Coaching

Goodwill provides assistance to those seeking jobs by offering interview coaching, work readiness training and job club meetings. Goodwill also provides consumers with job development and one on one job search assistance. Available in New Castle and Kent Counties.

Community-Based Assessment

This program is designed to assist those undecided as to their preferred job by assessing existing skills and abilities in the work place. Available in New Castle and Kent Counties.

Are you worried about losing your home? $tand By Me® offers FREE one-on-one support to Delawareans who want to understand more about their money, make good financial decisions, and have choices for savings and loans.
