GOODWILL OF DELAWARE & DELAWARE COUNTY ANNOUNCES INSPIRATION AWARD RECIPIENTS
Inspiration Awards Celebrate Individuals, Organizations and the Power of Work
Tuesday, May 19, 2020 – Wilmington, DE – Goodwill of Delaware & Delaware County today announced the recipients of its Goodwill Inspiration Awards for the 2019 program year. Typically presented during Goodwill of Delaware’s annual luncheon – which had to be cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic – the Inspiration Awards celebrate and recognize individuals and organizations that believe in the strength of the Power of Work.
“The economic and employment outlook that we face today, as a result of the national emergency, echoes some of the same challenges our organization was established to solve for Delaware residents nearly 100-years ago in 1921,” shared Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County’s president and CEO, Colleen P. Morrone. “Although the pandemic presented a unique challenge to our ability to present the luncheon and raise funds in support of our mission, we could not miss the opportunity to acknowledge the accomplishments of individuals, and the contributions of organizations who have benefited from, and contribute to the advancement of, our mission.
For the 2019 program year, Goodwill’s Inspiration Award recipients are:
- The Delaware Department of Transportation (Work-A-Day, Earn-A-Pay Program) – Community Partner of the Year Award
- PassITOn Maryland – J.H. Beauchamp Volunteer of the Year Award
- Orlando Foreman – Achiever of the Year Award
- Theresa White – Arline Docherty Team Member of the Year Award
- Robert Wilson – Senator William V. Roth, Jr. Achievement Award
For individuals who complete Goodwill training programs and acquire jobs, the sense of pride and purpose that results from work fosters personal empowerment, and yields the ability to support and strengthen families, and create more vibrant communities. These life-changing outcomes are directly attributable to our program partners, sponsors, donors, and shoppers.
Goodwill thanks the organizations who contributed to the Inspiration Awards this year through sponsorship.
