I have always been reluctant to buy navy. It just doesn’t sing to me like other colors do! Well, all of that changed recently when I saw a few items that caught my eye…both navy! As I went home and styled these items, I found that the color can act as a neutral for many looks. I decided to pair this navy lace top with a dark wash jean for casual Friday. Add my signature pop of color with a statement necklace and you have created a monochromatic look (always a great idea for a slimming effect!) with a top and bottom in the navy color family. Lace is everywhere this fall, especially a colored lace!
This top is so versatile and can be worn all year long. Now, pair with jeans or trousers for work (a brown color would work nicely) and in the warmer months wear over a sleeveless dress or with a skirt. Think about a belt too to create the shape you want. The lace detail is what did it for me! Feminine and cut to skim the body in a way that works for everyone.
My final tip is to look for one item (color, cut or pattern) that you would not normally be drawn to and buy it! Bring it home and pair it with a comfort level item (your favorite jeans or black pants). Your goal is to wear it once and see what happens! Step outside the box and see what you can do! Stay Savvy! ~Kim
