OUR STORY

Goodwill Industries was founded in 1902 by Reverend Edgar J. Helms in Boston Massachusetts. Following the precepts of Goodwill Industries of Boston, in 1921 Reverend J. H. Beauchamp founded Delaware’s Goodwill with the philosophy to provide a hand up, not a hand out. Since our founding in 1921, our purpose has been to discover the productive capabilities inherent in all people. Today, with just over 100 years of service, we are the oldest nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization providing job training and rehabilitation services in the state of Delaware.

STRATEGIC PLAN

In 2021, we celebrated 100 years of Goodwill Delaware. Now we are planning for how we can best serve our community for the next 100 years. We are always analyzing and refining our strategic plan to ensure we are pursuing our mission in every decision we make. Please join us on social media, @goodwillde, to learn more about our plans to create brighter futures.
