The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) provides paid, part-time work experience for eligible persons in New Castle County. Delaware Residents living in other Counties can go here to find the administrators of SCSEP where they live!

As well as fully subsidized employment opportunities, this program also provides participants with supportive services, training workshops, and help with finding long-term employment.

GET STARTED

SCSEP provides part-time employment and skills development programs for Delaware residents over 55 years. Participants can work up to 20 hours per week while developing highly employable skills, with the ultimate goal of securing participants unsubsidized employment.

HOW TO JOIN

  1. Submit an inquiry form or a registration form
  2. 1-on-1 consultation 
  3. Develop ISS 
  4. Formal orientation
  5. Start job placement 

ELIGIBILITY 

New Castle County residents 55 years and older who have family incomes at or below 125% of the poverty level. Service priority is given to individuals meeting one or more of the following criteria:

  • Veteran or a spouse of a veteran
  • 65 years of age or older
  • With a disability
  • Limited English proficiency
  • Low literacy skills
  • Residing in a rural area
  • Low employment prospects
  • Homeless or at risk for homelessness

For all Goodwill Workforce Development programs, there are some basic documents that are worth gathering in advance to speed up the process! After submitting an inquiry, please make sure*

  • Your physical state ID is accessible and not expired
  • Your physical social security card is accessible 
  • You have documents to verify your income if requested
